The Introductory Post
I've decided to start a blog, so welcome to Bergland & Twin Ports. Why a blog? The forums are dead, Facebook is hell, I have no interest in podcasting, and I want to ramble longer than 300 characters at a time. Who am I? A boring white guy in the Twin Cities suburbs with a lifelong autistic obsession with anything that moves. What do I plan to post? I have approximately half a plan for this place, it will be mostly model railroading adjacent but sometimes whatever else I feel like writing. What's with the name? It sounds cool. The Bergland & Twin Ports could be a scenic line on the former Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic line from Duluth/Superior to Bergland Michigan. It would be pretty expensive to restore, the Twin Ports area is saturated with tourist lines, and there isn't anything to do in Bergland, but it would be fun to run trains to the town with my last name in it's name. Maybe someday I'll build myself some private cars in BTPR paint. And finally ...
